What you deliver, and what IBBFA delivers
Education and assessment stay separate. You teach the workshop; IBBFA enrolls, examines and registers your students.
What you deliver
- The in-person CBI workshop, taught by you, in the same room as your students
- Your venue, your schedule and your delivery costs
- Your workshop price, at or above the published minimum
- Your own studio, your own name and your own clients
What IBBFA delivers
- Enrollment and payment: students enroll and pay through IBBFA
- The written exam and the live practical, with an IBBFA proctor
- The CBI credential, Registry ID and public registry entry
- A public listing for every workshop, with open enrollment
- Your payout within 7 days of the workshop
Seat and payout
IBBFA retains a fixed seat for each attending student. You set your workshop price and receive the balance within 7 days of the workshop, by PayPal, Stripe or bank transfer. Seats are flat prices with no volume discount.
All amounts in US dollars. You are paid for attending students only.

The comparison
Studio franchises charge $40,000 and more for the right to train instructors under their brand. IBBFA Faculty pay no license fee. You keep your own studio, your own name and your own clients.
Three rules
- In person, and you teach.Every workshop is taught in person, in the same room, by you.
- Publicly listed.Every workshop is publicly listed with open enrollment. There are no private workshops.
- IBBFA examines. An IBBFA proctor evaluates your students. You never examine your own students.

- After three successfully delivered CBI workshops and an evaluation, per specialty
- Successfully delivered means participant feedback of at least 4.3 out of 5, no cancellations, and at least one attendee from outside your own studio team
- Only for specialties you hold

- The specialty seat is 30% below the specialty's retail price: $263 per attending student for a $375 specialty on the standard schedule

- Spanish specialty terms are published when they are confirmed
- Specialties are certificates of completion, with no exam step

Before your first workshop
Faculty status comes with Principal. If your Board Review feedback recommended further practice in a specific area (for example cueing or adaptations), IBBFA will ask you to complete it before your first listing. This is a stated step with a date, not a denial.
IBBFA Faculty questions
Do I have to apply to become IBBFA Faculty?
No. Faculty status comes with Principal. Active Principal and Master Instructors register; there is no separate application. If your Board Review feedback recommended further practice in a specific area, IBBFA will ask you to complete it before your first listing, as a stated step with a date.
Who examines my students?
IBBFA does. Every student sits the written exam and the live practical with an IBBFA proctor, and the proctor is never the student's Faculty member. IBBFA tracks results by Faculty member and reviews them against the program's base rate once a Faculty member has at least 10 candidates.
Can I run a private workshop for my own studio?
No. Every workshop is publicly listed with open enrollment. A Principal studio owner can certify their own instructors through their own public workshop at the seat price in effect, and each of them must pass the IBBFA written exam and live practical. Workshops attended only by your own studio team do not count toward the specialty unlock.
Is there a minimum number of hours or students?
No. There are no minimum hours and no minimum attendance. You set the schedule and the price, at or above the published minimum workshop price.
When and how am I paid?
Within 7 days of the workshop, by PayPal, Stripe or bank transfer. For each attending student you receive your workshop price minus the IBBFA seat. IBBFA pays no advances, and venue and delivery costs are yours.
What happens if a workshop is cancelled?
Minimum enrollment is confirmed 14 days before the workshop. If you cancel or do not show, IBBFA refunds your students or moves them to the online CBI enrollment. You are paid for attending students only.
Which languages can I teach in?
List your languages of instruction when you register. Spanish-language workshops use the Spanish schedule; English and every other language use the standard schedule.
Teach IBBFA certification in your city
Register as Faculty if you hold Principal or Master. If you do not yet, the Principal Track includes CBI, four specialties and the live Board Review.
